To The Unknown

In the heart of the wilderness, lost and alone,
With fear as my companion, in darkness I roam.
Above, around, everywhere is stark,
My soul consumed by this endless dark.

How do I shake this gripping dread,
And alter the course of thoughts in my head?
Where do I turn, what path to pursue,
As the leopard's voice draws near, my heart in a stew?

Oh, the pounding of my thighs, the racing of my heart,
In the wild's embrace, will I soon depart?
No, I mustn't give in, I must fight to survive,
In this vast expanse where only the fittest thrive.

I search for solace, for a glimmer of light,
But find only shadows in the dead of night.
I cry out for aid, but it seems far away,
Lost in this wilderness, I long for the day.

Yet amidst the fear and the daunting plight,
I gather my strength and prepare for the fight.
For in the depths of despair, hope can still reside,
Guiding me onward, as I refuse to be denied.

I envision my life after this unimaginable eventuality I’m faced with.
An experience and burden once heart would never wish .
The imagination of the life back then beautiful mementos of time,
Finding myself again with love once as we all would merry and dine ./
